Foreign-Made Hair DryersHighland Machine has been manufacturing hair dryers for the barber and beauty industry for over 35 years. Included in our product line was the Model 1000 Venus Hair Dryer which was manufactured for the Takara Company in New York. Recently, a new Venus hair dryer was introduced to the American market. This hair dryer was copied from our design and is being manufactured by Conair in Costa Rica. This dryer looks identical to the hair dryer manufactured by Highland Machine but THIS IS NOT A HIGHLAND MACHINE PRODUCT. Some internal components have been changed from our design to lower the manufacturing cost of the hair dryer; changes which we feel lessen the quality of the product. The imported hair dryer can be identified by looking at the U/L decal on the back of the dryer. It will read "MADE IN COSTA RICA". This is NOT our American-made hair dryer; it is a foreign knock-off of our product. Highland Machine has no association with this hair dryer and are dismayed that Conair chose to completely copy the external appearance of our product. We want to assure our customers that we are continuing to manufacture our original hair dryer in Highland, Illinois. We have not, and will not, cheapen our hair dryer to cut costs. We will continue to provide the same high quality product and service that has been the trademark of our company for over 50 years. |
